Liahren Expands Sustainable Fabric Production Capacity

Liahren Textiles has completed the installation of a new knitting and finishing line at our Yanjiao facility, raising monthly output by roughly 40% and giving our partners shorter, more predictable lead times across organic cotton, bamboo and recycled polyester programs.

Why we invested

Over the past two years, inquiry volume for certified knitted fabrics has grown steadily, particularly for organic cotton single jersey, bamboo French terry and recycled polyester blends used in activewear and loungewear. The bottleneck was never yarn supply. It was finishing capacity: the point where fabric is dyed, set, softened and inspected.

The new line adds continuous dyeing capacity, a stenter with precise overfeed control, and a dedicated inspection bay with 4-point scoring. Together they allow us to run smaller batches without sacrificing consistency, which matters for brands testing new styles before committing to bulk orders.

What changes for buyers

• Sampling: lab dips and knit-down samples now ship in 5-7 working days instead of 10-14.
• Bulk lead time: standard knitted styles move from 30-35 days to 25-30 days after order confirmation.
• Minimum order: because changeover is faster, several jersey and interlock qualities can be produced from 300 meters per color.
• Consistency: every roll is inspected and scored before packing, and shade bands are retained for reorders.

Traceability across the chain

Capacity means little without documentation. Each production lot is linked to its yarn certificate, whether GOTS for organic cotton, GRS for recycled polyester, or FSC-based viscose for bamboo. We record the lot number on the packing list so that a finished garment can be traced back to the fabric roll and the yarn batch behind it.

For brands preparing supplier audits, we can provide transaction certificates, test reports for shrinkage, color fastness and composition, and photos of the actual production run.

Environmental controls

The finishing line was specified with heat recovery on the stenter and a closed-loop water system for rinsing. Dye recipes are reviewed each quarter to reduce water and energy per kilogram of finished fabric. Wastewater is treated on site and tested before discharge, and sludge is handled by a licensed contractor.

Next steps

We are now qualifying two additional qualities: a 300GSM organic cotton fleece for heavyweight loungewear, and a recycled polyester-spandex interlock for compression garments. Both will be available for sampling in the coming quarter.
