Bamboo Hooded Towel FAQ: Construction, Weight, Size and Customization

Why we build hooded towels from 92% bamboo 8% microfiber warp knitted terry, the regular 400 and 500 gsm weights, standard sizes, MOQ, color, embroidery logo and wash tag options.
Why Not 100% Bamboo for Hooded Towels
Most clients ask for 100% bamboo first. Bamboo is very soft and smooth, which is exactly why it snags easily during washing and on contact with sharp objects. Once a thread pulls out, the product looks defective.
Softness matters, but so does durability. A mixed composition using different functional fibers delivers both. We previously produced hooded towels in 100% bamboo and in bamboo cotton, and both showed snagging problems with threads pulling out during washing.
Our Solution: Warp Knitted Terry
We developed a special terry construction called warp knitted terry. The yarn on the skin-contact side is 100% bamboo, so the towel stays soft, absorbent and breathable. The 8% microfiber sits in the terry base, which gives the hooded towel its durability. With around ten years of production experience behind this composition and construction, it is the configuration we recommend for a quality bamboo hooded towel that survives repeated washing.
Weight
Regular weights are 400 gsm and 500 gsm. The 500 gsm version is already quite thick and is well received in EU and USA markets.
Size
Regular sizes are 75 x 75 cm and 90 x 90 cm, or 75 x 100 cm and 75 x 120 cm for different designs. We produce to your design specification.
